Sun June – Bad With Time
Austin-based indie group Sun June delivers an anthemic track from their new album “Somewhere.” Titled “Bad with Time,” the song maintains their signature somber and lingering style, gradually building over three minutes. It resonates with hints of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ vibe, reminiscent of the iconic “Maps,” while retaining Sun June’s unique identity. Lead singer Laura Colwell’s lyrics paint desert and southwest imagery, with twin guitars weaving through the chorus. The album, described as a “prom record,” captures the highs and lows of swift romance. “Bad with Time,” the opening track, establishes this tone—a gentle, swaying tune perfect for a dusky desert drive or even a future prom setting, post-pandemic.
